We may have been looking at psychedelics through the wrong lens.
Not to fix the hardware, but to reconnect with the part of you that was never broken.
My intention was to come back to myself. To ground into the soul-part of me that was whole, complete, healed. The microdose didn’t just “fix” my brain; it allowed me to reconnect with the part of myself that was already whole. My soul. And let that wholeness cascade down into my broken mind and body.
What this page is
Personal narrative + harm-reduction context. No instructions for obtaining substances. Everything here should be discussed with a licensed clinician – especially after stroke.
What PSI is doing here
Offering lived experience in a world that hasn’t yet caught up to the power of these medicines, when used responsibly & safely.
Evidence reality check
Controlled microdosing research is mixed and still early. Stroke-specific conclusions are not established. We label this as Hypothesis / Emerging.
What I Experienced
Before: impossible “stuck” feeling. Gray. Mud. Recovering in a body that was Frozen. Immobilized.
After 2.5 weeks of 50 mg psilocybin every 3 days at night: a bit more embodied, clear, & less frozen. Things felt “just ok.” I could live in myself again.
Jake's Field Notes
“My intention was to come back to myself. To ground into the soul-part of me that was whole, complete, healed… after about 2.5 weeks, I feel a bit more embodied, clear, & less frozen.”
PSI Translation: These medicines supported a foundation of healing – they gave the body the space to simply exist again.

The shift in my own thinking
I now see their primary power in stroke recovery is psychospiritual and emotional. They help you embrace your new form, not try to go back to who you were.
What to discuss with a clinician
Medication interactions, cardiovascular risk, mental health history, timing in recovery.
