Stroke Survivor & Caregiver Community

A room where you don’t have to explain the basics

Most people in the Recovery Gap are not short of information. They are short of other people who already understand.

Two people sitting outdoors on a park bench, smiling and waving at the camera. One is a woman dressed in a green and white jacket with sunglasses on her head, and the other is a man in hospital gown with glasses. There is an IV pole with a bag and medical equipment next to the woman. The setting is a lush garden with colorful flowers and greenery.

Stroke Community Video Calls:

Calls begin October 28th, 2026 at 2:00pm(Mountain). They are held the fourth Wednesday of each month (except December).

One hour. Online. Free.

No curriculum and no pressure to perform recovery – mostly a place to be around people who don't need the situation explained from the beginning.

For survivors, it is a place for stroke survivor support built around shared experience.

Our first call begins October 28th, 2026 at 2:00pm(Mountain)

We will use this to send meeting details. No newsletter, and we will not pass it on.

Please Note: at this time, calls are for stroke survivors only. Caregiver calls will begin in 2027.

Jake speaks one to one with stroke survivors.

Usually it is orientation more than anything else: what this stretch of stroke recovery tends to be like, what questions are worth asking your own care team, and what else is out there that might be worth knowing about.

A PSI 1:1 conversation is survivor-to-survivor orientation, education and support.

It is not medical care and it is not, by itself, a natural-medicine facilitation relationship. PSI does not diagnose, prescribe, recommend what someone should take, or provide or source substances. Medical and treatment decisions belong with the appropriate licensed healthcare professionals.

His time is limited, and it is the main reason the community calls exist – a good conversation should not depend on one person's calendar.

Ask anyway; he would rather hear from you and be slow than have you not ask.

Request a 1:1 Conversation

Jake reads these himself. He answers when he can, and sometimes that takes a while – it is one person's calendar, not a service desk.

For Caregivers, Family & Friends

Caregiver support after stroke can be difficult to find, especially once the immediate crisis has passed.

You are welcome in the community calls in 2027 whether you are a partner, parent, adult child, family member or friend.

You do not have to be the person who had the stroke to need a room where the basics are already understood.

There is a fuller account of PSI's research, current questions, organizational status, and ways to collaborate on the Research page.
